After enduring 3 years of relentless defamation by Mohamed Kutubu Koroma - a U.S. based individual who branded me a “failed & mediocre lawyer", "broke", "scammer" and more in a vile campaign to destroy my name - justice has finally prevailed. In a judgment delivered on 23rd July 2025 by the District Court of Maryland, the court ruled in my favor in Yada Williams vs. Kutubu Koroma – Case No. DC-05-CV-25-018282, holding Mr. Koroma liable for libel. Every one of his malicious and defamatory allegations was found to be false. The court awarded damages of US$20,056.00 against him.
This is a vindication - not just for me, but for the principle that defamation, even when launched from behind a keyboard across borders, is not without legal consequences. The internet is not a shield for cowardly slanderers - accountability has no borders.
To those who think social media is a lawless space where reputations can be destroyed with impunity—think again. The law will catch up with you. Let this be a warning to all who abuse digital platforms to malign others - there is no safe haven for lies.

My Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship is underway. Last week, I interacted with talented individuals from the global south who are working on innovative solutions at the intersection of #ClimateChange-I am already thinking of ways to integrate them into my work in Freetown.
