First rehearsal tonight for our Family Concert. The concert takes place on Sunday 19th November at 3.00 p.m. Our theme in this Coronation Year is Kings and Queens and there is music to suit everyone, including an opportunity to singalong. Details at wso.org.uk

Only a couple of months now to our first concert of the 23-24 season on 14 Oct. We are delighted to bring you Callum Smart as soloist for Elgar's Violin Concerto. Programme includes Walton's Crown Imperial March and Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances. The conductor is Roger Coull.

Rehearsals start tonight for new season: first concert celebrates the life of our late orchestra manager Malcolm Rowson. Malcolm was well known throughout Warwickshire as an oboist and for his contribution to musical life. More details to come or visit wso.org.uk

The orchestra are enjoying rehearsing the for Saturday's concert: great to have an opportunity to play Dancing Fish and Scaramouche with @Gilly_Blair as well as Schumann's Rhenish Symphony and Vaughan Williams Thomas Tallis variations. wso.org.uk

@RichardBratby The Warwickshire Symphony Orchestra is playing the Rhenish this Saturday under its conductor Roger Coull. Twenty years since it last played the piece.

Favourite Schumann pieces? No.1 has always been the Rhenish symphony for me; then the Piano Quartet, the Quintet, the Overture, Scherzo and Finale and finally - after years of misunderstanding it - the Cello Concerto.
