As a former atheist, it took me forever to realize that an intellectual understanding of God was only the first step. The next step has to be a deep, personal knowledge of and reliance on Jesus. Nothing else will suffice.

A big crack in my atheist foundation was finding out that two of my undergrad physics professors were devoutly Christian. They never proselytized, but we could all observe how they lived their lives. Never underestimate the evangelistic power of living out your faith.

If you believe the world exists by chance and you are here thro a process of survival of the fittest, with no moral absolutes, then life is just about getting power. Nietzsche says that is the authentic way to live if the Christian God does not exist. See: buff.ly/3hXjeT0

As an atheist kid growing up in a secular country, I loved Christmas carols. I had no idea what they meant, but they had weight and beauty to them like no secular holiday songs I'd ever heard. They're even more beautiful now that I know their meaning. youtu.be/gSeLzsl8xsU

Battling #Cancer is hell. Most have lost at least one loved one, and Tim Keller @timkellernyc is one of the most effective theologians we have. On Dec. 15, Tim speaks with Justin Brierley @UnbelievableJB on the topic of "Walking with God through Cancer." unbelievable.live

According to @ntwrightonline, in several ancient instances of democracy, elected officials were held to account after elections with formal mechanisms that had teeth. For example, misbehaving officials could be cast out of their cities by popular vote.🤔 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ask…

The Romans were quite willing to admit that Christ was a god. What they denied was that He was the God — the highest truth of the cosmos. And this is the only point worth discussing about Christianity.
