This week across Ontario, we recognize Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week. Join students, staff & families in learning how we can work together to foster safe and caring schools and create positive learning environments where everyone feels welcome and has a sense of belonging.

Joined by Gayelyn Heffernan from The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Peterborough and District Wapiti Métis Council (PDWMC), KPR raised the Métis flag at the Education Centre in honour of Louis Riel Day.

Louis Riel Day is recognized annually on November 16. On this day, we remember the unjust execution of Louis Riel, and reflect on his many accomplishments as a Métis leader who advocated for the rights and inclusion of the Métis Nation.

“Rock Your Mocs Week” is a call to encourage Indigenous people of all ages, nations and backgrounds to wear their moccasins to show pride and represent their culture.
