Warsop Old Hall

The third week of surveying around Warsop Old Hall included collecting and recording the location of the items found whilst fieldwalking in the field alongside Bishops Walk, plus more resistance surveying to the east of the hall @MercianArch @VibrantWarsop @HeritageFundUK

Our volunteers watched as dendrochronology (or tree-ring dating) samples were taken from timbers in the hall. These should provide more evidence of the dates when parts of the building were constructed. @VibrantWarsop @Bigwarsop @MercianArch @JamesSm54543040 @HeritageFundM_E

In response to the government advice regarding coronavirus we believe it is in the best interests of all to delay our project. We will be looking to set new dates for all the archaeology sessions and all other activities .
