@rphnh33 Perhaps, but then businesses would have to adjust theirs. The whole world shifts and then, in the end, what was the point?

We tried it in the 70s and people HATED it. So much so that we repealed it with almost universal, bipartisan support after just one year. As it stands, my kid would be going to school almost an hour before the sun rises in mid-winter if this happens. I’m not a fan.

@muttilolly I feel like kids are currently going to school and coming home in the light.

@WasatchSnow Everybody that wasn’t there said they hated it. I was there and loved it. I walked to school in the dark but came home in the light. It was so much better.

However, for much of the early part of this week I worry about dry lightning, gusty outflow winds, and low humidity.

It’s a fine line between monsoonal surges bringing enough moisture to actually help fire suppression, and just bringing enough energy to raise winds and lightning and increase fire danger. Eventually, we should get to the good side of that line…

We are only like 2-3 weeks from the climatological hottest point of summer. Then it, in theory, is downhill to winter. Always feels like a mental hurdle cleared for me when we get there.

@twoPlankBro We have. Which is why I’m grasping at straws for some ray of hope to hold onto.

@WasatchSnow Man I hope so, feel like we've entered the doldrum portion of the summer where lows might go below 70 and all highs 95+ for weeks and weeks on end

@TomMoyerUT I had no idea this was an American trait. Not sure if it really is, but it's absolutely true that I want to play these teams at their best. I would never dream of being happy that De Bruyne or some Belgian star was out of the game.

The Europeans in my replies can’t seem to comprehend this. Of *course* I want your best player on the field - and doubly so if it were because of a questionable call on the field.

It is a uniquely American trait to want to beat the best its opponent has to offer. When we play France in the semis we want to beat mbappe not France without mbappe. Feeling cheated because VAR was used incorrectly and then having it corrected is a uniquely euro trait.

I’d like to thank my brother-in-law. He believed in the USMNT last fall when I did not. And because of his faith, I now get to attend a soccer game tomorrow. 🇺🇸
