Powered by Roddenberry Foundation under the +1 Global WASH Initiative, this project aims to drive impactful advocacy, community engagement, and sustainable WASH solutions for refugees.

We kickstarted the WASH Advocacy Caravans Project to improve Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Kyangwali and Nakivale refugee settlements and host communities this week in collaboration with SYNA-Kenya and partners under WASEU.

Imagine a community where every woman is a beacon of strength and innovation. We supported Namiranya Women's Group in Mbale to take a leap forward, learning how to make liquid soap and bake cakes. These skills are their tools for building a brighter futures.

Early pregnancy and child marriage are critical issues affecting young girls in Busoga region, including districts such as Mayuge and Iganga. These practices contribute to school dropouts, poor health outcomes, and limited economic opportunities for young girls.

Robert Kanusu, Deputy Resident City Commissioner of Mbarara City North Division, reiterated the government's commitment to evict encroachers and educate the public on wetland conservation. "We will continue to guide people on the importance of protecting our wetlands," he said.

Mbarara City has launched a campaign to restore over 4,000 hectares of the degraded Rucece wetland.
