#WorldWaterDay 2026 is highlighting how women are disproportionately likely to be responsible for household water collection, management & treatment, but underrepresented in water governance bodies or technical roles associated with WRM. See GEDSI plan at bit.ly/awp-gedsi-plan…

Indigenous peoples are leaders—not just participants—in shaping water policy. A strong message was delivered to the water community at the closing of #WorldWaterWeek 2025. You can see the statement at the #WWWeek news link worldwaterweek.org/news/a-message… Indigenous representatives shared key insights across World Water Week 2025, including: 1️⃣Indigenous peoples are rights-holders and leaders, not just stakeholders, in water governance. 2️⃣Integrating Indigenous knowledge systems with contemporary frameworks strengthens resilience and policy impact. 3️⃣Indigenous-led initiatives from Australia, Brazil, Canada, and the Pacific are proving that equitable governance delivers outcomes for people, ecosystems, and economies alike. The statement reinforces a simple truth; the global water sector cannot achieve climate resilience without Indigenous leadership at the centre. @dfat @DCCEEW @WaterAgencyCAN

AWP is proud to be at the forefront of elevating more traditional indigenous voices and supporting unique #cultural insights into the #water management challenges for many regions around the world. Collaborating with @dfat @DCCEEW and @WaterAgencyCAN amongst others, we look forward to greater involvement beyond the conversations of #WWWeek 2025; forming new partnerships and elevating the #resilience and knowledges of indigenous communities into all #climatechange conversations about water management and #sustainability.

eWater & the Australian Water Partnership today pay tribute to Leith Boully who has passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer. Leith served on the AWP Advisory Committee from the beginning. Group CEO, eWater Ltd, Michael Wilson, says Leith was a giant in the Australian Water Community who steadfastly supported eWater & AWP. General Manager of AWP, Sarah Ransom says she loved Leith's ability to zero in on the real questions, and she benefited enormously from Leith's support & advice. Vale, Leith. And thank you.

'If Australia and the Pacific are announced as the joint hosts of COP31, it will be a great opportunity to make progress on long-term issues and demonstrate our leadership on issues such as climate financing.' @eWater_ Group CEO, Michael Wilson, has opened the international development “Stronger Together – International Partnerships for Water and Climate Action” stream at #Ozwater25. One of the highlights of Day One at OzWater'25 has been meeting a delegation from Vietnam. The delegation was led by the Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, Ms HA Thanh Hang. The AWP team was delighted to engage with the delegates who represented a range of Vietnamese water organisations. It was a great opportunity to listen and learn from the delegates' firsthand experiences and challenges in managing water resources. @dfat
