Im surprised more people aren’t talking about just how atrocious this scene is in the Odyssey. Nolan took a part of the story about savage giants who throw boulders at and eat Odysseus’s crew and changed them to be weird 12ft tall medieval knights or something.

@McCarthyist2 This scene was so horrifying. Seeing immediate hostility, snapping trees and tearing the earth as they tore humans apart, and how fast and strategic they were moving, all while wearing advanced tech (bronze age), was effective and cool as hell. Movie doesnt need to be longer.

Tourists are unable to deal with the idea of complex or interesting characters. Paul Greyrat was a man who genuinely loved his wife, loved his kids, and loved being a cool knight who helped people. Yes, he cheated on his wife and hurt her, but the whole reason she was able to forgive him is because she was capable of understanding that he's a flawed man. He's a cad, he's a pervert, he's always been a lady's man and that was always his vice. At the same time, he destroyed himself searching for his wife and kids, and died for them without regret. He was a good man with flaws, a knight who made mistakes.
