Democrats in Oakland, California installed new speeding cameras at 18 intersections “Oakland says it handed out 82,000 speeding tickets between March and April” The fines were up to $500 They are sending out over 2,000 tickets per day Low income drivers and those on public benefits get reduced rates on their tickets The drivers in Oakland are very unhappy about the amount of tickets being given out Once you let the government install things to take away more of your money, they’ll never stop the program. It will only expand It’s all about extracting more revenue from Americans

@Avabelly__ I think the missed point is not the shirtless guy but the dead grass. No need to mow what doesn’t grow.

Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but mowing the lawn shirtless in a neighborhood full of families and kids just feels unnecessary 😭 We all share the same space, and a little consideration for the people around you isn’t that hard.

@BladeoftheS Elon’s are intentional so that they are safe when ultimately occupied. This one, like NASA just wings it and finds out the hard way.

It's not just Elon Musk's rockets that blow up, so do Jeff Bezos'. The billionaires need to be taxed so they can't build their own personal exploding spacebombs. Otherwise we will never be safe.

@GavinNewsom And just think, those states still have homes you can buy for under $200,000. That same house in Rohnert Park is $5M. That’s 25 times more expensive than the poor states. If you were keeping up with their wages and costs of living your minimum wage would be $181.25. So sad.

MAGA hates working people. It’s a disgrace that nearly 20 GOP states still have a $7.25 minimum wage. In California, it’s $25 an hour for an entire sector of workers! As it should be.

@gaughen That’s interesting. I only know if one person in my circle that left the country and it was to go to a place that is cheaper and to avoid all of the crazy taxes so they could retire in comfort. Based on your story, we should all know dozens of people doing this.

Net migration to the USA is negative for the first time in a century. Meaning, more people are moving out than are moving in. 89% said they're leaving the US for political reasons. Our country is imploding, and it is entirely the fault of the morons who voted for Donald Trump. cnbc.com/2026/05/17/ame…

When I became mayor, Los Angeles was facing challenges that had been ignored for decades. So I got to work. Homelessness is down 17.5%. Homicides are at their lowest level since the 1960s. More than 42,000 affordable housing units are being fast-tracked. There is still more work to do to make L.A. safer, more affordable, and a city that works for everyone.

@GavinNewsom Wait! They overthrew democracy? And how are you going to qualify it as income? It was blood money for suffering malicious prosecution. Last time I checked that is non taxable. Oh and obviously you would only tax your constituents. Why is “tax” always your answer?

If you get a payout from Trump’s January 6 slush fund, California will tax it at 100%. People who assault cops and overthrow democracy don’t deserve a taxpayer-funded payday.

@GavinNewsom You mean like how you put windows in the envelope so you can read the vote without opening it and just toss those that don’t vote the way you want? It’s funny how corrupt people can’t see how obviously corrupt they present.

NEW: I just signed a bill making it illegal to seize ballots or interfere with election equipment. As Trump and MAGA assault democracy, we're not sitting idly by — we’re safeguarding California’s elections.

@ninoboxer So let’s agree that data centers use water to cool. What is your explanation for it disappearing? Your argument is akin to suggesting dams using up water to make electricity.

🚨BREAKING: There is NO water in The Rio Grande?! I’m standing here in New Mexico and the river is completely DRY. Nearby AI data centers are consuming massive amounts of water to keep their systems cool. Meta’s Los Lunas facility alone has reportedly been tied to roughly 75 million gallons of water usage per year connected to Rio Grande resources and it’s only ONE of many projects expanding across the state. People can argue over the exact numbers, but one thing is undeniable… these facilities require enormous amounts of water and there are more data centers across the country being built as we speak. This is starting to look like an environmental disaster in plain sight. We need to put pressure on local representatives and the President to examine this environmental crisis before it’s too late.

It is an incredible honor to receive an endorsement from Congresswoman Maxine Waters. She has been one of the most powerful voices in Washington as Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, opening the doors of banking and finance to Black and Brown communities who were locked out for generations.
