Update: It seems those acting on behalf of the Ruto government panicked. They have restored some of the loan data that had been hidden but the Affordable Housing loan is still missing. They had also disabled the Kenya Digital loan Ruto took from the World Bank, the CBC loan taken by the Uhuru-Ruto government, and several others. I’m currently going through the full list of what was hidden. I’ve actually received an email with a long explanation what looks like an apology and a promise of an investigation. But the World Bank should understand this: the loans you give to Kenya will be repaid by us Kenyans. You should not behave like the Kenyan government hiding financial data so that looting can continue unchecked. Also, why should govt officials fear, if they used the loans prudently?
