🔥 Here’s how I learned Verse, and how you can too. #UEFN ⌨️ Verse was the first ever programming language Ive ever tried. So I had basically no idea what I was doing and didnt even know if it was making sense . Then I started following tutorials and just copy and pasted code which I didnt even understand. But after I realized that, I started to change the process of creating code. 🤔 I began adding and changing code which I had already copied. Much of what I wrote didnt even make sense, but I learned how to use the basics of an programming language. (Variables, functions, logic) After a bit of trying out many different things I started going back to youtube tutorials. I looked at what exactly they were talking about and how it "could" make sense for me. 💡 I realized that I understand some of the things they were explaining and started to only get the first few lines of the code they wrote/explained, and finish the rest up by myself. For example I watched a tutorial on a gun game system, I copied the rough beginning of the tutorial, (Like the first function) and the rest Ive tried to make by myself. Even if it didnt work like it was supposed to do, I went back to the tutorial and listened carefully on the process that the creator was making to create the code. ⚡️ I listened carefully and even rewatched the video multiple times while making notes on what was important. Then I tried making the same system completely from scratch so that I can understand the whole process, and in general on how it does work. 🔋 After around 3 months I saw real progress. For example: I completely understood on how the first ever gun game script I mentioned earlier worked, and I was even able to rewrite it by myself without the tutorial. I also learned many more crutial things about Verse, while I still watched tutorials. 📨 My way to go after I completed the "basics" of Verse was learning by doing. I learned how coding really works by just creating simple mechanics like powerups or team changers. In the process of continuing to write code completely by myself I understood how a function with a subscription, or spawning functions, using to stop code and much more works. ⚙️ Summary: If you really want to learn Verse to create mechanics or games I would always start small. Start with watching tutorials on the basics of Verse. While doing that try to understand what the creator is explaining and make notes for yourself. Try to recreate the code on your own and understand what you are doing. If you know the basics of Verse, make your own codes, start with small mechanics like random location teleporters, changing classes, or just creating a simple gun game system. Learn from every code, understand it, make notes and continue with the next system. I would recommend only increasing the difficulty of the system you want to create, if you completely understand how the code you have written before works. Then you can go on and keep learning new things. #FortniteCreative #Verse #Fortnite

@chrisp_games Do you have to write the python code outside of UEFN like in an external program? Cause I have zero experience with Python, would want to learn it though.

@WavyCreative_ a bar will pop up in the bottom left, and you can enter python code. You can also setup a py file and refernce it to do specific tasks.

@CooliSushi @chrisp_games Dont you think that you are still very limited inside UEFN? Cause when I’m making a game, some things I would love to do are still not there.

If you think there is no future for #fortnite #uefn games you are definitely wrong. Played this RPG from @CooliSushi and its really well made! The Horror genre is also thriving right now. Can not wait for all the cool games coming out in the next few years :)

Here's a custom "Sparkles" material function I made for my map✨ It's highly customizable and versatile, supporting different textures and randomness! I use it a lot to make rare items stand out more #UEFN

#UEFN Verse 66/100 – V-Bucks Shop UI 💻 just finished the coding part for this UI by @creativePudVa 🎨 for @kenziionyt 🐐 Verse field events + code. making V-bucks shops even with an amazing template code that @ShubhXVerse made a lot of names lol the template saves a lot of time and effort but products are( still ) the most boring repetitive thing you can do............ but it's worth it in the end lol 😅 to get this working with Verse fields there's gonna be a lot of repetitive code but there's some adv Verse syntax you can do to make it less repetitive and easier for future setups - make a function that takes: an event (so we can pass a Verse field event) 📡 a callback/function as a type that returns void (so we can call the function that does X which we passed into it) 🔄 so you just need to pass the button once and its function when the UI is created and it can handle cleanup too 🧹 Hats off to @creativePudVa for the incredible job on the UI 🙌 phenomenal work truly world class. couldn't have found a better looking and set up UI 🙏. #Fortnite #FortniteCreative #UI #Verse
