The Republican-led House Energy and Commerce Committee passed the Sunshine Protection Act, which would end the practice of “springing forward” and “falling back” by permanently advancing clocks by one hour.
The legislation now heads to the House floor. wapo.st/4wzZ5tA

@chatcher9 @washingtonpost I want standard time, but I will compromise if I have to.
English

@washingtonpost They should split the difference, 30 minutes instead of an hour.
English

@BernardAKavana3 @washingtonpost Ok, then why did we have 15,000,000 people run over the border in the past four years why are people wanting to come in? Why don’t they read your little post and stay where they are or go where the other countries soooo much better. Simple question.
English

@washingtonpost Yeah, this will help pay bills...folks have been asking for this for years so no big deal.
English

@TommyFSX @washingtonpost Good. I hope it continues. Don’t sign it. Sign the one that says stay on standard time..
English

@washingtonpost it's been on the United States Congress desk for over 10 years.. they have been paid off to refuse to sign it. typical corruption from these inept morons.
English

@MAngelini416 @washingtonpost I hope you are in the minority. I love waking up to a fresh clean bright morning before it gets all polluted, and I get to enjoy an extra hour of light in the heat and pollution that has been generated throughout the day..
English

@washingtonpost Ugh. I know I’m in the minority, but I love the changing of the clocks.
English

@washingtonpost @GOP screwing things up as usual. Standard Time is the right move.
English

@washingtonpost Will never pass. These clowns will not agree on anything.
English

@StaplerDavid @washingtonpost If we didn’t have daylight savings, you would go to work in the light.
English

@washingtonpost Thank god. It’s depressing to go to work at dark and get home at dark
English

@jefcjb @washingtonpost No, mother nature increases daylight, naturally as the summer comes on. Yes in the middle of winter it is dark at 5pm, but not in the summer.
English

@washingtonpost We go to work and school in the dark either way but at least you have a evening without dark thirty at 1700
English

@ETMADSON @washingtonpost OK, then let’s get off of it once and for all and never mention daylight savings again like Arizona
English

@washingtonpost Good. We need to stop changing the time twice a year, it's stupid, and would give us more light in the evening here.
English

@washingtonpost NO! It does not save energy, it does not do anything it claimed to do when it started in 1918. In fact, it can be easily argued that we use more energy in every facet of our lives with that “extra hour” at night. I much rather have a hour of sunlight in the fresh morning
