Now that the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal has directed Edwin Sifuna and the Orange Democratic Movement to resolve their dispute through the party’s Internal Dispute Resolution Mechanism, the position remains legally unchanged. Sifuna is still the Secretary General. This means the tribunal has not made a final decision on his removal but has instead referred the matter back to ODM’s internal processes. Until that process is completed and a final resolution reached, any attempt to replace him has no formal basis. In practical terms, Sifuna retains full authority and recognition as Secretary General for now.
