UPDATE: Inclement Weather Announcement Due to changing storm timing and increasing severity in the forecast for our area, all schools will be CLOSED for students and staff on Monday, March 16. This closure announcement reflects the most current update from WCPS.

Due to the threat of severe storms with dangerous straight line winds late Monday afternoon, WCPS will dismiss 3-hours early, Monday 3-16. All after school programs and activities are canceled. These actions will ensure campuses are cleared and buses are safely off the road.

Sorry, kids! The Snow Days are over. All schools will operate on their regular schedules tomorrow, Friday, February 6. We’re excited to see you back in class!

Due to the concerns of wet roadways, freezing rain, and below-freezing temperatures overnight creating slick conditions for buses in the AM, all schools will remain CLOSED for students, Thursday, February 5. For Staff, Thursday will be an Optional Workday with a 2-hour delay.

Due to continued icy conditions affecting many secondary roadways and school campuses throughout the county, WCPS will remain closed for students and staff on Wednesday, February 4.

REMINDER: Wednesday, January 28, will be an early release day for most Traditional Calendar schools. WEMCHS, WSE, & WSTA will dismiss at their regular time. All other schools will dismiss 2-hours early.

Due to concerns of continued wet roadways in the northern part of the county and below-freezing temperatures overnight creating slick conditions for buses in the morning, WCPS will operate on a 2-Hour delay, Tuesday, January 27. Students & staff report 2-Hours later than usual.

Due to icy conditions, all schools will be CLOSED for students and staff, Monday, January 26. WCPS is closely monitoring the weather forecasts for our area and will remain in close communications with local emergency management officials throughout this weather event.

The lottery application is now OPEN for Wayne Early/Middle College High, Wayne School of Engineering, and Wayne School of Technical Arts. The deadline to apply to a lottery is February 13 at 4PM. Students and families can apply to a lottery at waynecountyschools.org/page/innovativ…

Reminder: Friday, December 19, is an early release day for all WCPS students. All schools will dismiss two hours earlier than usual. Have a safe and happy Holiday break!

Weather Announcement - Due to the threat of below freezing temperatures causing icy conditions on secondary roadways in the morning, WCPS will have a 2-Hour Delay, Tuesday, December 9. Non-essential personnel report 2-hours late. The student day begins 2-Hours later than normal.
