@mibpj2 @tombob_13 @minakimes Media likes his personality and the playoff run(where he wasn't even that good) inflated his reputation. He's going to need to miss the playoffs/have a few bad playoff exits for perception to get pegged closer to realitt

@JBtoVanuatu @Murmaidman @themicknartin To me it's like the equivalent of calling kyrie a top 5 player. I think stafford has alot of friends in the media and can be fun to watch so he gets elevated to an undeserving amount.

@JBtoVanuatu @Murmaidman @themicknartin That's the thing with him. You dont even need advanced stats. If mcvay is as good as people say he is and snead as good he is and stafford then they should have won alot more reg season games over the last 5 years. By and large they've been a 10 win level team not a powerhouse

I've had some stupid responses in my mentions, but this one by far takes the cake, lmfao.
The Terrible Accountant@Murmaidman

@themicknartin It's incredible that we're simply supposed to ignore 2022-24 (3 seasons!) of Stafford putting up 4100/23/11 seasons w/65%, 7.3 ypa & 91.8 QB rating per 17 gms, and consider him on par w/Allen, Lamar & Burrow. Oh yeah, he had a 22-18 record over that span too.

@ScottKacsmar Half of those game from the bills playoffs games. The Hamlin fake punt play wasn't a take away but might have well as been.

It's not. There are only 17 playoff games in history where a team won with no takeaways and 24+ points allowed. The winning QBs: Mahomes 4x Brees 3x Stabler 2x Montana 1x Brunell 1x Cutler 1x Brady 1x Allen 1x Lawrence 1x D.Jones 1x Caleb 1x Mahomes is #1

@ScottKacsmar You're comparing him to of the most overrated qbs ever in burrow and to a great but unique qb in lamar with limitations. Compare it to allen or the other greats and it'd different

@Murmaidman @themicknartin He's in the 5-12 range. He has the best coach in the league arguably and best cast on the league and still couldn't put up league leading effiency numbers. Very good 2 tier qb elevated by coaching and scheme

@JBtoVanuatu The stafford stuff annoys me so much bevause it's totally un evidenced bias. It's just myth making. I haven't seen anything like it

I'm actually less interested than ever before in an individual player's stats and more interested in what their teammates are doing. If the elites are all great, then their teammates should be driving the differences in a given year. "His EPA on 2nd-and-medium" - Who gives a shit? Tell me how many OL combos he's had this year, how many drives that started in opponent territory, how many drops on 3rd down that would have extended drives, how many contested catches his receiver won, etc. That's what I'd rather see now than just parsing through a QB's stats for the year.

Manning's playoff career lacked the improbable wins that other QBs enjoyed from their teammates making the decisive plays. He was on the losing end of some games like this instead. captaincomeback.blog/2026/07/12/sol…

@ScottKacsmar Mahomes hasn't been better at all. Absurd. He's run into fortunate circumstances are more than brady(slippery field in the sb vs the eagles). Playing a chronic choker in shanahan etc.

@WayofDade Mahomes has been better. Clearly. Brady just the luckiest. He couldn't even score more than 13 at home against those Ravens. Manning threw a TD late to put his team up 7.

@ScottKacsmar Peyton had his moment in 06 and you never let anyone hear the end of it(ignoring the fact that was one of the weakest pats teams of the dynasty). Yet you ignore when Brady did that 2x or when manning through his own mistakes failed. It's wild to this a decade later

@ScottKacsmar Because we're talking about peyton not showing up. Brady would have probably led a gw drive in ot. No one's been better than brady in those situations in the postseason no matter how you deny it

@ScottKacsmar Luck was a rookie. Brady didnt have the weapons manning did. Why is flacco's performance relevant? You keep evading the fact that he threw the pick in double ot to set up tuckers gw fg. If tb12 or allen did that you'd slander him ad nauseum.

@WayofDade He was better than Luck and Brady were against the same defense. Flacco threw a pass right to Harris, who dropped it in OT.

@ScottKacsmar Had manning put up more points earlier or afterwards his special team touchdowns would have accounted for more. The fact they weren't enough is precisely because he was not good enough in the game. And again the defense got multiple stops in OT. Manning threw the int

Game had no business going to OT. And it's not an excuse for Peyton, it's logic I've used in other games. If you're getting the ball via punt in a tied game, and your ST returns it for a TD, then your defense gives up an ensuing drive TD, the next time you touch the ball the game is tied just as it would have been if the punt return TD never happened. It had no value to Manning because the defense didn't make it hold up. Compounding good plays. That's literally the key to winning football games. You're not getting anywhere if you complete a 15-yard pass and take a 10-yard sack on the next snap. Most of Manning's few breaks in his playoff career were immediately erased by a mistake from another teammate or unit. Just like how the Bettis fumble only led to Vanderjagt kicking a FG near the restroom instead of through the uprights.

@CousinTurn They are probably underpaid relative to market value bevause of artificial constraints. The transfer market in European soccer kind of indicates that.
