💢San Francisco Superior Court Judge Bruce Chan (picture below) sentenced Lau to two years of probation. Reminiscent of the Latasha Harlins story, a 15-year-old Foundational Black American girl, who was shot and killed by Soon Ja Du, a 51-year-old Korean-born store clerk, on March 16, 1991, in South Central Los Angeles. The incident, sparked by a dispute over a $1.79 bottle of orange juice, saw Du shoot Harlins in the back of the head. The killer was convicted of voluntary manslaughter but received only probation....do anyone else see the Anti Black American trend here. I hope they request the DA file a petition for writ of mandate or prohibition. Enforce Marsy's Law rights in appellate court. Monitor and enforce her probation violations. Pursue or expand the wrongful death lawsuit. And most importantly. File a complaint with the Commission on Judicial Performance. If you believe Judge Chan showed bias, ignored law, or abused discretion (e.g., overemphasizing age/remorse while downplaying four deaths), submit a formal complaint (anonymous option available). This won't overturn the sentence but could lead to discipline (judge is retiring this year anyway).
