Human traffickers can be anyone – a coworker, a friend, a romantic partner, or family members. They usually are not strangers, and they will target vulnerable Texas youth experiencing homelessness. Here are the red flags to watch out for at: tinyurl.com/3n4skan2

Help ensure that no young person facing homelessness goes without food. Share the Texas Youth Resource Map with them. It connects youth to essential resources like food, shelter, and various forms of support. ➡️ bit.ly/TXYouthMap #texas #homelessyouth

In Texas, an estimated 60,000 young people between the ages of 13 and 17 face homelessness over the course of a year. Being homeless isn’t a choice, and it usually happens through family rejection, avoiding abuse, leaving foster care, or a lack of affordable housing. #wedoexist

Now, under new policy changes from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, he is now required to document up to 80 hours of work or risk losing access to SNAP for up to three years. He lost his job recently. He’s applied for new ones everywhere within walking or biking distance. No luck.

Alejandro’s story needs to be heard. He’s one of the many former foster youth in Texas who rely on access to food assistance. #fosteryouth

Resources are stretched thin across Texas with federal funding cuts, shelters are overwhelmed with increased demand, and more homeless youth are staying on the streets longer across our state . Texas can and must do better.

In 2019, we fought for and passed HB 692, ending nearly all out-of-school suspensions for homeless children. But some districts still aren’t following the law. Texas lawmakers must ensure full compliance. Homeless students need support, not suspensions. sanantonioreport.org/san-antonio-sc…
