@urbanprehisto @HistEnvScot Hi Kenny, we're really sorry to hear about what happened yesterday. The monument manager has spoken to the visit organiser today to apologise and explain, but unfortunately there was a miscommunication about this closure.

Very disappointing - we turned up at Rothesay Castle today with 78 students on a pre-booked educational visit to find door locked, castle closed & no sign or communication with us about the closure. The @welovehistory link to updates on closures doesn’t even work! @HistEnvScot

@Malkieonfoot Hi there, thanks for your question. It's a really complex picture at Glenbuchat Castle, with 5 phases of work to complete. Work is ongoing and will take a number of years but if it becomes possible to increase access as we go, we will.

Every time I go on a Strathdon road trip, I always find an excuse to swing by and visit Glenbuchat castle. @welovehistory Any update on when the work on the castle will be completed? @andrewsp2009 @visitabdn

@edintravel Hi Lewis 😊 There are no road closures scheduled for Queen's Drive. The High Road and Dunsapie Loch Car Park are open Tue-Thu, 9.30am to 3pm as part of the regular opening times.

@lewisforfar We're not aware of any closures there this week Lewis. @welovehistory would be able to confirm either way. ^J

@edintravel Hi there, Is Holyrood Park/Queen's Drive open for traffic this week? Recall seeing a sign a couple of weeks back about work starting on Jan 20, but not seeing anything to confirm it.

@Alltaylor1969 Hi, this is part of our grassland management work to improve the condition of our rare grasslands. These grasses have been cut and removed from Hunters Bog to Queens Drive and will be taken away for composting. It's a trial of a new approach following guidance from NatureScot.

@edintravel Update: We completed the work with the helicopter ahead of schedule today so park access returns to normal tomorrow (Thursday 16 January). ☺
