Bitcoin Mining Difficulty 101 ⛏️
Difficulty dropped 4.46% in January (148.29 T → 141.67 T) after 2 adjustments.
What's difficulty?
Bitcoin's self-regulating mechanism that adjusts every ~2 weeks to keep blocks coming every 10 minutes.
Why it dropped?
Some miners went offline → less total computing power → protocol automatically makes mining easier.
Impact?
Remaining miners earn more per unit of hashrate until difficulty re-adjusts upward.
This is Bitcoin's economic thermostat in action, automatically balancing miner profitability with network security. 🔄
