@murasakikiwi @unagi_anago @22jenson09 Comparing NYC and Tokyo doesn’t really work bc Manhattan is an island and surrounded by other islands so land is finite which is why the stadium was built way outside of existing high volume transit options. Plus football and tailgating go hand in hand so most people drive.

@WeOverDidIt @unagi_anago @22jenson09 I thought this was parody at first. Even you Yanks can't be that dumb to trot out that line at every point - I guess you can. How about trying Japan then? After living there, NYC seems tiny. They manage to have trains running after a super typhoon for the rugby world cup...

@jaceghost245 @unagi_anago @22jenson09 They really ought to have a drop off point right by one tpke exit and shut down one lane so people can walk the rest of the way. It would probably take too much manpower to shut it down and make sure drunks don’t wander out into traffic though.

@bnkd187235 @unagi_anago @22jenson09 Dude, the stadium fits 82k people. There is one “line” from MetLife to Secaucus which is more of a hub, though still small. Everyone has to get on that MetLife line. It’s short and will run more trains but the stadium was not designed to transport everyone. Most people drive.

@WeOverDidIt @unagi_anago @22jenson09 i dont understand what you are saying by "not meant to transport the entirety of the stadium", like there is a single train per hour or what?

@bnkd187235 @unagi_anago @22jenson09 There’s a train there. It’s just not meant to transport the entirety of the stadium. American football tailgating is a tradition hence the parking lots surrounding it. All of the arenas in the city have public transport but there’s not land available within the city for this.

@WeOverDidIt @unagi_anago @22jenson09 idk how is that still an argument for American defending their lack of public transport, just put a fucking bus lane motherfucker if ur too lazy to put tracks

@andrea_rebek @Don_Fede_Chiesa @22jenson09 There is a finite amount of land in the area. You”ve got 2 baseball stadiums easily accessible. 2 Basketball/ hockey as well. There’s no room for (American)football within the existing framework, hence the middle of nowhere stadium.

@aenavinjak @22jenson09 So it’s not going to be as bad getting there bc people will go at different times. But going home? Plan on sticking around for a few hours.

@WeOverDidIt @22jenson09 You never saw ultras in Europe? There will literally be 10-20k people that march together and there is nothing that anyone can do about it…

@WeOverDidIt @22jenson09 In countries other than the U.S., stadiums are never constructed in places that aren't within walking distance of public transportation. Oh, sorry. Public transportation is an alien concept to Americans.

@TheSkullTrumpet @22jenson09 There is like one bridge/ pass from the lots by American dream into the stadium area. The rest is just open lots and nothingness. Had there been a huge complex built with restaurants and bars they likely would have made it more walkable but it’s open lots for tailgating :/

@salingergregor @MoodyBlueliner If you don’t want to wander around and make random friends, there are also hugely popular tailgates you can “buy” into for like $30 with tons of food and drink and general fun stuff to pregame. No need to buy all the stuff at all.

@ZaaanderSmith It’s not going to be 15 minutes. But yeah it is a total rip off.

£110 for a 15 minute journey to the Metlife stadium. It really is disgusting when you put it into context. Imagine us having a Euro final or World Cup final and we say right its £110 from King's Cross to Wembley would never happen! Rip off American cunts.

@HRH_SHP Sometimes servers get assigned to take out as their section for the night. They take the orders and bag and make sure they’re all complete and then process payment. It kind of sucks bc those are all the tips they’re getting for the night. I’m not tipping 20% but I’m not tipping 0

Last night I ordered takeout, drove to the restaurant and picked it up. I signed the receipt and didn’t tip on the tip line. I feel guilty and judged every time I do this. No tips on takeout, right?
