@originalspin Dear all, thanks for all the feedback about our name. We hear you and we're sorry for the pain our name caused. We want our company to be about love & good food. So, we're changing our name to We Love You. Thank you to everyone who showed us grace. Love + Peace, Ann + Janet Chung

This took a different turn than I expected: Korean American sister owned business @WeRubYou donates a share of profits to anti-sex trafficking org Restore NYC and hires sex workers for part time seasonal jobs to give them supplementary income.

@WeRubYou I appreciate y'all clarifying your thoughts; I just think it's worth asking what the impact is on others, when this kind of play on a slur gives permission to ppl outside the AAPI community to echo & perpetuate the stereotype, regardless of your original intentions

re: naming a Korean sauce "We Rub You" ... owners say it's about reclaiming a stereotype, but what's the line between reclaiming a stereotype or slur, and merely profiting off it, and therefore promoting it?
