Income is a stream; it can dry up at any moment. Assets are a well; they provide even when you aren't digging. Most people spend their lives chasing the stream. They focus on the nominal value of their paycheck rather than the yield of their investments. True wealth starts the moment you stop buying things to impress people you don't like, and start buying back your time.
