Great Building Day w/2L! Cooperation & Creativity were the key to meeting the challenges. Cooperatively, they built towers with 1 hand, created playground equipment to fit a budget, built a staircase, & creatively planned their own dream treehouse blueprint. We even built a plane!
Claws and Paws was open for business with the 2022 graduates of vet school. We learned to take vitals then we went to the clinic to save a baby bear who ingested a dog leash, helped give a dog a flea bath, removed quills from a cocker spaniel, and engineered a splint for a monkey
2nd grade loved our first Emergency Day! Thank you Tallman Fire Department, Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp., Rockland County Sheriff’s Patrol Mounted Unit, and Ramapo Police and their K9s, for teaching us so much about emergency services. We hope you all stay safe at work.
Field trips are back! Yay! 2L had a fabulous day at the Van Saun Park/BC Zoo. We rode the train, had a picnic, saw prairie dogs, Andean Condors, golden lion tamarins, capybaras and tons of other animals before letting loose on the playground. Voted best day ever by 2L!
Scenes from the @SuffHock parade on Lafayette today! Thank you Suffern BOE, Village of Suffern and local PD & FD’s for a wonderful event to celebrate our State Champs! #MountiePride
2L had a great National Mad Hatter Day with their silly hats. We also had fun practicing reading author clues and adding expression within our stuffed reading buddy skits.
As COVID chaos swirled around us, the students of 2L kept me grounded and focused. What personalities! What adventures! I love the way 7 year olds see themselves! They can change the world! Whether on zoom, hybrid or within our walls, this was a year of fun I will never forget!
In our clinic saw a sheep named Selma that had listeriosis, a dog Marsha that had fleas, and a dog Britney that messed with a porcupine. We needed to do lots of math, reading, and writing to diagnose and treat our furry patients. Then we needed to figure out how much to charge.
