Early risers who tuned into @KMOV at 5AM today must've been very confused. This morning, for the first time in my 25-year career in broadcasting, I anchored the news. We had an emergency - no one else was available. So I handled both news & weather until reinforcements arrived.

@PatrickCrain6 Yes, I am aware of SAR, although I’m certainly no expert. At this point, the technology doesn’t have a lot of applications when it comes to day-to-day weather.

@WeatherChambers As I'm sure your aware of SAR SYNTHETIC APERTURE RADAR, sends a signal from Satellites to earth, reflecting back, on multiple frequencies, which build a picture, no matter the weather, it continues through clouds, smoke, etc. Are you aware of that?

A narrow band of snow could drop some fresh accumulations from mid-afternoon today through the evening. Tough to know exactly where this band will set up, but where it does, a dusting to an inch is possible with slick roads. Many will see no snow at all. #stlwx #FirstAlert4 @KMOV
