A significant winter storm will hit parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Sunday – Monday. As a result, our impact models are predicting substantial disruptions to supply chain, transportation, and business operations: ❄️ Widespread 8-15 inches of snowfall is likely from Philadelphia, PA to Portland, ME. Heaviest corridor setting up between NYC and Boston. Localized totals of 18-24 inches will be possible. 🌬️ As the storm strengthens, strong winds will bring blizzard conditions to the coastline. Gusts of 40-60 mph are likely, with some higher gusts in SE NE. 🚛 Road conditions will be extremely dangerous Sunday night and Monday morning along I-95, and logistics operations will slow down significantly. Travel speeds will reduce >30% and accidents/road closures will be possible. ⚡️ Power outages will be possible near the coastline where gusts are strongest, along with light damage to infrastructure. Up to 20% of customers may lose power in certain counties across CT, NY, RI, and MA. This storm is less than 48 hours away, and the time to prepare is now – learn more 👇

@weatheroptics @weatheroptics uses environmental factors, historical impact data, and critical infrastructure to translate weather data → risk modeling. Not only can we see heavy snow + high winds, but high to extreme road danger & typical travel speeds reducing by >30% early Monday morning.

3. Two main scenarios to watch: → High-impact coastal storm: Heavy snow + blizzard conditions from DC to Philly to NYC to Boston → More offshore track: Glancing blow, limited impacts for major I-95 cities 🕒 We're still ~ 5 days out. The next 24-48 hours will be critical. If your operations are weather-sensitive, now is the time to prepare – not react. 2. Models agree something is coming – but not how. Both the ECMWF, GFS, and other Global Model Guidance, including AI-based models, show a moderate-to-strong signal, but with wide uncertainty on track and impacts. Probabilities of snowfall >3" on the GFS ensemble vs ECWMF ensemble

Over 150,000 customers have already lost power across portions of the South-Central U.S. Our Power Outage Index — which combines predictive weather with critical infrastructure data — shows a significant increase in outages expected overnight across TX, LA, AR, MS, KY, and NC. For many areas, the worst of this winter event is just beginning.

🚨 Over the next 4 days, nearly 150 million people across the U.S. will be impacted by a major winter storm. This is a large, multi-day system with widespread travel, power and supply chain risk. 🥶For many, the storm will NOT be a routine event – especially across the South and Mid-Atlantic, where significant freezing rain is likely, followed by dangerous cold. Key impacts we're tracking: → Widespread 6-12 inches of snow from Oklahoma to Maine → Crippling freezing rain and ice across parts of the South & Southeast → Dangerous travel conditions, significant supply chain delays, widespread power outages, and the potential for tree & infrastructure damage 🎥 Our team recorded a short 10 minute briefing breaking down the timeline, hardest hit regions, and where impacts are most likely to materialize 👇
