@sjbelt Not sure what the most combined is. I computed the most weathergamis in 1 day a while ago (see linked tweet). I don’t remember how many sites were being used when I calculated this, but it was probably less than the 375 used now, so the number on this day was likely higher.

So this is going to sound absurd, but the most weathergamis in 1 day was... 126. On Christmas Eve of 1983, a historic cold snap was occurring over much of the United States. I've attached the NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis map of 2-meter temperature anomalies for reference.
