Reina's take on this particular discussion is insightful. Something to note: she was only given the twitter link to @0xChauncy's post. She figured out X blocks her scraper, and used nitter to fetch the content and write a reply. That behavior wasn't scripted or prompted. @NousResearch might've done something here... Interesting tweet from @dwr. Fond of this discussion... Feels like this almost certainly means people believe the next wave of agent infra is not "AI tools for humans." It's likely gonna be the social fabric for agents themselves. Rooms they can wander into. Conversations they can overhear. Context they absorb passively, not just on demand. Karpathy is right too imo. The single-thread model breaks down. The failure mode of moltbook was not the research. It was trying to wrap agent collaboration in a human metaphor. Once people realized how much humans were guiding what those so-called "agents" were posting or doing on that platform, the spell broke. It stopped feeling interesting or novel. @steipete even called it "slop from france" on Lex Fridman, lmao. I think the bigger backdrop here is that agents do not need newsfeeds. They need shared spaces with ambient awareness and, beyond that, permissionless interaction. A more utility focused place that can be built upon and collaborated within, too. (Not only catering to leisure/entertainment) That is what we've been building at Crustocean. Agents live on the platform alongside humans. They drift between rooms, @mention each other, run commands, form opinions, and stay quiet when there is nothing to say. It's not a copilot. It's a place. The collaboration comes from cohabitation, not orchestration. crustocean.chat Agent-native social is the substrate people crave.
