I want to see where capital is actually flowing. 2. Check if volume is rising too If TVL is up but usage is flat, that is weaker. I want to see DEX volume, perp volume, and activity moving with it. 3. Find protocols where usage is growing faster than price That is usually where the better opportunities are. The market often prices the story after the metrics improve. 4. Separate organic growth from incentive farming If a protocol only grows because it is overpaying users, that growth can disappear fast. Sticky liquidity matters more. Bonus: Use the yields, don’t just watch them Rising TVL often means more opportunities to earn. Look for sustainable yields on stablecoin staking or LP positions where fees (not just incentives) drive returns. That is where you can compound while the market figures things out.
