Calcium makes your bones hard and dense. If your calcium levels are too low, your body takes it from your bones. Too much loss may lead to osteoporosis, or brittle bone disease. That raises your chances for falls and broken bones. wb.md/4bQ0fID

If you want to get rid of dark spots fast, a procedure that removes layers of discolored skin may work better than a lightening cream. These techniques include laser treatments, freezing (cryotherapy), dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, microneedling, and chemical peels. Keep in mind that procedures cost more than creams. They also come with more risks. Your doctor can help you weigh your options. wb.md/3QZS0Tr

Everyone feels a bit down, sometimes. But if you’re sad and empty, and have trouble concentrating, eating, and sleeping for 2 weeks or more, you could have depression. It's not a one-size-fits-all illness. It comes in many forms, each with slightly different symptoms. But depression can be treated, usually with medicines, talk therapy, or both. wb.md/4ylSkMR

The CDC and FDA have linked iceberg lettuce supplied to Taco Bell by Taylor Farms to an outbreak of cyclosporiasis in 5 states, according to a report from the New York Times. Reports say that the CDC has not officially named Taylor Farms in its investigation; however, the FDA has linked the outbreak to a single supplier of iceberg lettuce from Mexico, according to a statement from the agency. Cases of cyclosporiasis have surged across the US, with over 6,000 cases across 34 states. Cyclosporiasis is an illness you can get if you eat food contaminated with a parasite called Cyclospora cayetanensis. Cyclospora can infect your small intestine and cause days or even weeks of digestive symptoms like watery or explosive diarrhea. Learn more about the illness by tapping the link. wb.md/455tHGS

No matter how you treat your AFib, your daily habits can help your heart. Eat a heart-healthy diet. Cut back on the caffeine you drink. Read medicine labels to check for decongestants -- especially in cold and cough medicines. Limit alcohol to no more than 1 drink a day if you're a woman and 2 if you're a man. Get regular exercise. And if you smoke, quit. Talk to your doctor if your symptoms get worse. wb.md/3SWbzfW

Not getting enough sleep can make you more likely to catch viruses or germs. And you also may take longer to get better. That’s because your body can’t make as many infection-fighting cells and proteins called antibodies that help defend against illness. Your body releases certain proteins that help the immune system, called cytokines, only during sleep. wb.md/4wGkjFm
