@Baalren "increase space" I am a goddamned idiot, there is carrying capacity for more people even if there wasn't in the past evolutionary environment when morals evolved, so even perfect sort killing noncriminal moral nihilists wouldn't help the good moral character folks at all.

@Baalren He cannot make anyone moral with threats, killing moral nihilists couldn't increase space for the more moral specimens since it's not possible to sort correctly while killing everyone, because morals beyond self-benefit Is something like not cheating despite lack of punishment,

@Baalren Apart from the idea of giving death penalty to all moral nihilists being dumb, it's also not the kind of thing a decent person would want, because of all the "murder of people who did nothing to you", but more like someone crazy or power-lusting might like it.

@Baalren But if Gundam's inquisition were implemented, people would just be fake all the time, eliminating the correlation, and with it any reason to like people with good moral character better, and promoting deception skill instead.

@realLPBeria That guy would have been a slave himself back then, no matter what bad things the left does associating with this type of mean dumbness which doesn't even benefit themselves is worse yet.

Everyone talks about Israel, but attitudes toward China are changing *much* more rapidly among Republicans. This seems like very good news for halting the AI arms race.

@Baalren Buying someone a coffee when he did something for you, without a contractual obligation to do so, can be an expression of gratitude.

@Webfarercurious Charity is bad, not good. Justice is inevitable. Gratitude can't pay for coffee. Breaking your word is self-harm. Forgiveness is either unsuitable or irrelevant. As far as I know. Together they don't make a coherent whole.

Morality and virtue are antonyms. Morality is the upper bound of what you can hope for out of a woman. Morality = ergi.

@Baalren At least, there is a difference between more and less "like that" people. I think those traits are piggybacking off trustworthiness, and somehow go together with it because of how consciousness works.

@Baalren Morality is when all else equal you prefer to be good to others, which consists of justice and charity, such as returning kindness with gratitude, keeping your word, the same people who are more like this are also forgiving .

@Baalren You mean that this commercial battlefield is a thing someone should do in real life, such as you or me? I would love to see it out of curiosity and coolness factor, but don't think you are a centimillionaire to afford starting that, and neither am I. But it is interesting!

@Webfarercurious 2/2 I'm thinking about commodified war. Consider opening a commercial battlefield. Hire mercenaries to fight. Buy stocks in the teams. Naturally the stock of the winning team will go up. The idea is to expand to real nation-state wars, but under controlled conditions.

Competition with real stakes can either have value creation as purpose, someone specific winning as a purpose, or giving power to the one who judges rule violation. Consider that competition as opposed to combat has rules, while being adversarial by definition.

@Webfarercurious At least move away from latin roots and use germanic roots. Unless you're italian. Then do the opposite.

@Webfarercurious At what's called the object level, no major errors. You've gone too far into the abstract, however. Get out of the armchair and take a walk out of the ivory tower. Strong possibility even you don't quite know what you're saying.

@Baalren Nevertheless people who can be trusted regardless of punishment, seem like a valuable resource to me, regardless of their rationality? Or am I wrong? Are trustless contracts strictly better?

Baalren@Baalren·
@Webfarercurious There are many ways to do low-trust or trustless contracts. "High-trust" is really high punishment. Basically you make it so they can't disappear and you can hunt them down and bonk them.

@Baalren It is prudent if people know each other, but not among strangers . Which means having to only trust longtime associates or people recommended by such, because a stranger might just try to do one scam and than disappear, there is a million people in the city etc. But that's third

A paradox: Left-wing academic bias is real. But for all the multi-culti window dressing, it seems like the *actual* achievements of non-Western civilizations (primarily South and East Asian) are still seriously underappreciated .
