It took less than a week for them to take action that could disenfranchise 25% of South Carolina voters while so many urgent issues go unaddressed. South Carolina needs leadership focused on making life more affordable for families not playing politics in Washington’s interest.

At a Sumter roundtable, we talked about what’s at stake for our rural communities. Black-owned farms & small, family-owned farms across SC are disappearing at an alarming rate. We can’t keep losing farmland to unchecked development like data centers. Protect our land.

This Marion County farmland is being considered for a data center. Rural South Carolina needs growth, but it has to be smart growth. These projects can consume massive water and energy while delivering very few long-term jobs. We should be more careful about how SC land is used.
