Late in the afternoon, while the woodpecker battles continued, I saw some birds daringly swoop in and snatched acorns from the granary 👀

Power struggles among acorn woodpeckers outside the office at @HastingsReserve today! The intense fights persisted from the morning till 6 PM 🥵 Nothing seemed to stop them, even attracting some turkey vultures with their loud calls during midday ☀️ 🐦 🌳

Spotted a mama cow andcalf at @HastingsReserve today 🐮🐮 I wonder if they would mind the abundance of poison oaks under the shade?
