Hi! I was wondering (if anyone remembers😅) which TTRPG character I've played feels the most iconic or stands out to you as the one that could represent me? From whom have I exuded the purest Daveness?🤔

Big thanks to the @OHAOregon Newborn Screening program at the Oregon State Public Health Laboratory, which screens nearly every Oregon newborn for over 40 serious but treatable medical conditions! oregon.gov/oha/ph/laborat…

@chhendon @taaltree Sure. With the abundance of syllabi out there it probably wouldn't be too difficult to survey grading policies. (I wouldn't suspect curving is very common but that's just a hunch.)

@Weitemier @taaltree All of the things you mention could be true, but they don't change a 75%. Since GPA depends on the letter grade assigned to the score, we at least need a unified percentile (i.e. no curve). If at least this was agreed upon, then we could talk about teaching/student quality, etc.

@chhendon @taaltree Lowering standards (giving a high grade to a 75%, writing "easier" tests) is only one explanation. Others are improved teaching, improved students, or a change in philosophy on what grading is about.

@Weitemier @taaltree What letter grade do you think a 75% overall should correspond to? And do you think that if the content doesn’t change much year to year (I.e. the course didn’t get more difficult) should letter grades be adjusted on “a curve”?

@taaltree Not saying I do this, but there is not really an incentive structure to award negative grades. Because if every other school gives inflated grades then a school that actually grades properly has a negative impact. Grades should be earned.

“The fact that Treasurer @Tobias_Read is releasing this decarbonization plan in the first place is a direct result of the power @DivestOregon has built over the past year, and direct pressure from Oregonians demanding public money no longer finance climate destruction" RT Please!

.@ChristineDrazan sponsored a bill that could jail doctors who provide abortions. This is not the “New Direction” we need. We can’t let an anti-abortion Republican take us backward.

@TrevorABranch @katenorton A lesson on good directory structure for projects is probably needed even if students already have the folder/file mental model.

Senseless #missile attack on the National #Herbarium of #Ukraine (KW). Fortunately, nobody injured and no irreversible loss of specimens. But so many other senseless attacks caused loss of lives and homes. Still, feels different to know I have been at this window just a year ago.

Any of my friends with bioinformatics expertise interested in picking up some low-lift side projects? My colleague is looking for a new collaborator! Topics include things like mtDNA haplotypes, gene expression, basic stats.
