@DrBradJohnson Plus degrees keep the education business in business. If education were to go out of business, where would those degrees bring someone.

Teachers should be required to have a degree because it is a profession, but they should also be paid and treated as a professional. This would solve the teacher shortage and attrition rates quickly.
