What a fantastic achievement from our athletics team today 😆I would like to thank all the kids for their amazing hard work over the year in order to win the heptathlon 💪🏻also a big thank you to @ActiveSchoolsIC for another great event ☀️

Problem solving tasks - some great strategies to the games on display from these two P7 boys as they were tasked with gathering equipment without physically touching any of it 😎@ASP180

It was lovely to welcome the nursery children that will be attending our school next year into the gym hall for a fantastic sports session lead by our wonderful primary 6 pupils. A great opportunity for them so meet their buddies for next year😊💜@ASP180

Total wipeout - players try to steal cones from the middle without being hit by the tied bibs. If caught the players place their cone back down, whatever team has the most cones at the end is the winner 😆

Primary 7 sports leaders sessions have been running amazingly, great to see so many fun, engaging ideas from our senior pupils💜 @ASP180

Balloons are a great tool to make racket skills a little easier. They are also great for creating some new games, here are some games children came up with today 😆🎈@ASP180

Primary 7 Sports Leaders did an amazing job leading today’s lesson for Primary 3a!🌟🏸

Birdie in the nest - players pair up and stand on opposite sides of the hall to one another. They take shots to get the shuttle into their own hoop. If successful they move up to the next stage. The aim is for the first pair to get their hoops to meet as they get closer together.

Shuttle balance - players try and keep their shuttle balanced on their rackets whilst moving around and trying to knock off other shuttles with the opposite hand. If knocked off players can do an exercise chosen 🏸

Cat & mouse tag - the cat chases the mouse around the box and is not allowed to run threw it. If caught then players change their roles. To make it more sport specific you could add in basketball or football to focus on the dribbling under pressure aspect.

Basketball kerby - children play against a partner and they both have a hoop in front of them. The aim is to throw the ball to hit the rim of the hoop rather than trying to get it inside the hoop. Players cannot block each other throws🏀@ASP180

Sports Leaders - it was great to have the girls P7 sports leaders taking a well planned athletics session for our primary 3s. This brings us up to three groups of sports leaders taking sessions in our school, allowing for more opportunities to grow and develop. @ASP180

Well done to our netball team who have gone undefeated across both heats in the Netball Winter Cup. Bring on the final! 🏆@ActiveSchoolsIC Thanks to Mrs Bradley and Miss Brown our terrific coaches . We are successful, we are ready! 💪

Code word tag - Taggers are chasing the players who are not in the hoops ‘safe zones’. For players to get into the safe zone they must say the code word to the person already in the hoop for them to swap. P6 sports leaders made this game and this is them trying it out 😊@ASP180

Moving time bomb - players move around the circle by skipping to the side. They throw the ball to each other and if it drops they begin a countdown from 10. Whoever has the ball at the end of the countdown does an exercise chosen by the group @ASP180

Colour tag - players move around the box on coaches call of left and right. When the coach calls a colour then that player becomes the tagger to catch everyone else in the group ⚪️🟡🔵🟢@ASP180

Another Monday, another 6 brick session☺️ the boys were tasked with making things that they had to keep a secret. They then had to figure out what each other made. We had a flower, boat, dog and a bridge 🌹⛴️🐶🌉 @ASP180

First success cafe of the year, it was lovely to see so many adults taking part in our sports activities with their little ones ❤️@ASP180

Primary 6 sports leaders came up with a great variation of toilet tig by making it specific to basketball. Taggers tag the ball of the dribblers who then place their ball at their feet. Rescuers come over to get the ball and place it through their arms to get them back in 😎
