Congratulations to Kathryn T for winning the Senior prize in @youngspeakscot's annual Public Speaking Competition. She delivered an impactful and well-researched speech about how we make sense of our complex reality.

The senior prize was awarded to Kathryn Taylor from Wellington School who impressed the judges with a compelling speech that referenced astronomy, mathematics and history. Well done to Kathryn and all of our finalists!

This afternoon, our S6 pupils Anubha and Robyn chaired our remote Scottish Parliament Election Hustings. The girls led the event superbly, guiding informed debate on COVID recovery, the safety of women, climate change and independence. Many thanks to the party reps who attended.

Good luck to our S4-6 pupils taking part in the regional heat of the John Stuart @MillCup today. So far they have been discussing the ethics of repatriation rights and private schooling. Go teams!

Congratulations to Gabi (S4) and Angus (S6) for winning the Novice Final in the Edinburgh Schools Debate! A commanding performance and very impressive for Gabi's first competitive debate. Katie and Emily T (S3) placed 4th and 5th respectively in the top novice speaker rankings

After three rounds of the Edinburgh Schools debate, we are very pleased to announce two teams have broken to the Novice Final: Gabi (S4) and Angus (S6) Katie and Emily T (S3) This is the first time breaking to a final for these debaters and we wish them the best of luck!
