It is that time of year when people become worried about Hedgehogs surviving winter. Hedgehogs are designed to live all year around in The UK
Not all Hedgehogs hibernate and even if they do it is not a continuous sleep so they do benefit from having access to a food.

Trip to Aston Rowant NNR with @dm3ssag3 for Chalkhill Blue and Silver Spotted Skipper, lovely to see the Chiltern Gentian flower. Quick stop at Whitecross Green Wood NR for Brown Hairstreak, one was spotted.

Butterfly and Moth walk from Port Eynon to Overton with @dm3ssag3 walk guided by @markhipkin1 and @gmtord supported by @NaturAmByth @savebutterflies @BCSouthWales @WTSWW nice selection of Moths and quite a few Butterflies on the return walk

@dawn_mission @dm3ssag3 Couldn't believe it, sat for couple of hours watching it emerge thinking at least with me sitting there the birds stay away from the pond and then as soon as it flew up it was taken

Over the last few days a number of Southern Hawker Dragonflies have emerged from our #wildlifepond, today I witnessed one emerge, unfortunately as it flew off it was quickly taken by a House Sparrow @BDSdragonflies

A very hot walk at Grafton Wood Nature Reserve with @dm3ssag3 White Admiral, Wood White, our first Comma of the year also a brief glimpse of Silver-washed fritillary, lovely reserve @BC_WestMids @BCWarwickshire @savebutterflies

Hickling Broad NNR with @dm3ssag3 highlights, Red-tipped Clearwing, Norfolk Hawker, Fen Mason-Wasp and of course the Swallowtail of which we saw at least 10, only ragged ones in photos unfortunately, great reserve and weather was amazing @NorfolkWT

Trip to Norfolk with @dm3ssag3 called at Whitecross Green Wood Nature Reserve on the way, highlights Black Hairstreak, Purple Hairstreak and White-Letter Hairstreak. Evening stop and short walk at Strumpshaw Fen Hairy Dragonfly, Scarce Chaser and Banded Demoiselle, no Swallowtail

Trip to Tout Quarry with @dm3ssag3 highlights Silver Studded Blue and Lulworth Skipper, onto Alners Gorse no Hairstreaks but did spot couple of White Admiral, not much else around though.

Saturday walk near Horner Wood with @dm3ssag3 spotted 20+ Heath Fritillary butterflies, then on to Cinderford for the Wood White butterfly possibly 5 or 6 spotted, which brings our lifetime species total to 55

Short morning walk at Old Castle Down with @dm3ssag3 just one sighting of a Small Pearl-Bordered Fritillary, plenty of Small Heath flying around
