@ClaireSourfitz I don’t think it’s even debatable that he should go on those grounds. Yet if the WRU knew this in advance it should have been dealt with sooner & more so he is not the only one who should be held to account. That is at the root of all this. The problem is systemic & deep rooted.

The responses to this tweet are mental. Ioan was accused of bullying and clearly the accusations held weight during the investigation. There is no way a coach who has bullied players can continue, it’s a safeguarding issue.

@GemHallett I’ll repeat.. you can ‘smooth over’, ‘hide/plaster over’ as many cracks on the surface as you like.. (Ioan Cunningham) HOWEVER… if the Foundations are poorly built, and the root cause of those surface cracks are not dealt with, NOTHING will change! Deal with the ROOT CAUSE!

@GemHallett We need a nurturing, supporting environment & one which listens to the voice & needs of players.. performances will look after themselves IF you have the foundations built on trust, validation, and buy in from everyone.. WRU is failing welsh rugby as we don’t have foundations!

@GemHallett 💯 and they can talk about ‘investment, contracts’ over last few years. Yet the point remains it’s not simply about financial investment - whether it’s in business, home, or sport - if the ENVIRONMENT and ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE isn’t right the performances WILL SUFFER!
