Once you get to the Semis, you obviously want to win the whole thing, but I think both Spain and Argentina have done their job just getting to the Semis.
Especially in Argentina’s case, most complete wrote them off. An aging side, four years on, and the trend with World Cup winners is often a sharp fall-off (France being the exception).
We know it hasn’t been pretty, but they’ve fought and once again proved their resilance. A SF exit is absolutely nothing to be ashamed off, imo.

But that doesn’t affect any of the 8-9 fouls that Romero has committed which include stopping dangerous counter attacks & bodychecking players off the ball etc

And yes, the guy stood twice on his legs, which is easily atleast a yellow card but he didn’t get anything

Bringing a player down when they have a 3-on-3 counter is ALWAYS a yellow, it’s a cynical foul preventing a dangerous attacking play
Bodychecking a player off the ball = always a yellow

Messi foul vs Algeria is far worse. Not to mention Romero rugby tackling, two footing or preventing clear 3 on 3 counter attacks (multiple times vs Cape Verde) yet not getting a single yellow this WC.

@Tezas_14 This is nowhere near as bad as Messi’s foul, which was far higher on the leg. It wasn’t as bad as Romero’s two footed scythe on Salah (landed higher on his ankle & far more forceful) or Romero twice stopping Cape Verde who had a 3 on 3 counter. None of which got even a yellow.

I’m sorry, but I have no sympathy for Embolo. He let his team down massively, one of the most unnecessary cases of simulation I’ve ever seen.
