There's also Eastern Storm, which seems to only serve the Benoni area. In the past it included Mpumalanga, but they are now a standalone union.

@SACricketLover1 @CashNSport With 15/16 unions, our domestic structure is almost as big as the ECB's county system, but we don't have the cricketing population of England and Wales. Would be much better to be in line with Aus and NZ with 6-8 teams (like we had in 2004-19).

Domestic cricket is in I.C.U - North West cricket was in administration - Border cricket under administration - Northern Cape Cricket under administration - Limpopo cricket just fired C.E.O Lions and Titans doing fine but lots of fires in other unions.

This guy has been trying to convince people that Jacques Kallis isn't an all-rounder, since the day he retired. Just to be clear: 3 batters have more test runs than Kallis, all have worse bowling averages. 41 bowlers have more wickets than him, all have worse batting averages.

@Werries_ What do you think of Nandre Burger signing to play in the BPL, which (if the dates on Wikipedia are correct) overlaps with both the Pakistan tests and the SA20?

Player management is vital, which is why some players were allowed to play in the CPL even when the Proteas had some fixtures, while KG was rested We also need to make sure that there are no Proteas fixture clashes with the SA20 going forward

@watsenaam Loots Bosman. Between his first T20i match in 2006 and his last in 2010, he had a strike-rate of 147, the best of all Proteas batters in that period. Better than Albie, AB or Herchelle.

Financially, the majority of the provincial unions are black boxes (some unions do this intentionally, others it's just incompetence) . And I can't imagine any sane businessman would look at these unions and think it's a good investment.

For example, the only provincial cricket board for which I could find an annual report is Gauteng. The rest don't have anything on their websites (most don't even have a site ffs).

Even if CSA gives the go ahead for this, the likelihood of a private investor seems very low. As much their fans like to complain about it, there's a level of corporate governance you get with English counties, which simply doesn't exist among our provincal unions.
