@SAsportspress You mention in your article that CSA have recently released the fixtures for the Pro Series, but I can't seem to find that anywhere. Would mind sharing a link to the fixtures?

@DomesticCSA Why are you guys lying to us? Your own documents show there's a total of 69 Hubs and RPC's Are you saying 15 Hubs will get 2 vehicles each and the other 54 fokkol?

30 New Wheels. 1 Big Goal 🏏 🚗 Suzuki has stepped up in a big way, donating 30 vehicles to Cricket South Africa’s Development Hubs. Giving 2 per hub and helping us drive the game forward from the grassroots up across South Africa 🙌 🇿🇦 Here’s to making cricket more accessible, mobile, and impactful in every community. #PROTEASxSUZUKI #WozaNawe

@KenBorland The lack of communication from CSA regarding this, is appaling. I mean, you're one of SA's leading cricket journalists, and only found this out whilst commentating on a game.

New levels of ridiculousness in South African cricket: Titans Women chasing 268 to win in Pro50 finale' v Lions. Not allowed to bat 2nd leading run-scorer Robyn Searle in the top 7. Instead leggie Rasika Maharaj had to bat top 6, unfair on her as she struggled to 13 off 42 balls!

@SACricketLover1 @CashNSport Take for example the women's division 2, where you have Eastern Cape, Eastern Province, and Kei, all representing the Eastern Cape. There's also Eastern Storm, which seems to only serve the Benoni area. In the past it included Mpumalanga, but they are now a standalone union.

@SACricketLover1 @CashNSport With 15/16 unions, our domestic structure is almost as big as the ECB's county system, but we don't have the cricketing population of England and Wales. Would be much better to be in line with Aus and NZ with 6-8 teams (like we had in 2004-19).

Domestic cricket is in I.C.U - North West cricket was in administration - Border cricket under administration - Northern Cape Cricket under administration - Limpopo cricket just fired C.E.O Lions and Titans doing fine but lots of fires in other unions.
SACricketLover@SACricketLover1

@CashNSport I wish the PONI number was a range or average rather than a minimum. Suspect there's wide variance there. Seen your football tweet. I've seen data on the Proteas, but do you know what happens in domestic cricket? I hear only Lions and Titans are self-sustaining.

This guy has been trying to convince people that Jacques Kallis isn't an all-rounder, since the day he retired. Just to be clear: 3 batters have more test runs than Kallis, all have worse bowling averages. 41 bowlers have more wickets than him, all have worse batting averages.

@FullQuotaPod Would be great if you guys could share some info on the state of women's Division 2 cricket. Is promotion/relegation still happening, and how would that work? Any strong teams/good players we should know of?

@TinusvS4 I wonder what's the reason for the delay. Gulam Bodi was charged in 2018 and sentenced in 2019 for his role in this.

@WomCricketMad We did wake up. That's why Hilton Moreeng is now US cricket's problem. Unfortunately we only woke up after he did so many kinds of irreparable harm to the team.

@WisdenCricket @Yas_Wisden @Katya_Wisden @Ben_Wisden @Metro_Bank This part stood out for me: "People will be listening and ask 'what's next this winter?' " Instead of mentioning England's multi-format tour to South Africa (starting next month), you just skip past it and instead talk about the Women's Ashes.

@Werries_ What do you think of Nandre Burger signing to play in the BPL, which (if the dates on Wikipedia are correct) overlaps with both the Pakistan tests and the SA20?

@watsenaam Loots Bosman. Between his first T20i match in 2006 and his last in 2010, he had a strike-rate of 147, the best of all Proteas batters in that period. Better than Albie, AB or Herchelle.

Financially, the majority of the provincial unions are black boxes (some unions do this intentionally, others it's just incompetence) . And I can't imagine any sane businessman would look at these unions and think it's a good investment.

For example, the only provincial cricket board for which I could find an annual report is Gauteng. The rest don't have anything on their websites (most don't even have a site ffs).

Even if CSA gives the go ahead for this, the likelihood of a private investor seems very low. As much their fans like to complain about it, there's a level of corporate governance you get with English counties, which simply doesn't exist among our provincal unions.
C. S. Chiwanza@CSChiwanza

CSA should really consider this where provincial sides are concerned. Selling stakes of local teams will help a lot. As it stands, only three or so sides can survive without CSA handouts. Unions will retain a certain %age, naturally. espncricinfo.com/story/explaine…
