Do the math on this shot. That leaves undecides over 20%. Do people think that would go heavy split Republican? That’s a dreamworld! This is exactly why we need to unite behind one. @SteveHiltonx has been at the top in almost every poll. Swalwell got union endorsements after this poll (let’s ignore the baggge on him for now. It may not hit hard till the general). Steyer can buy his way up a few points. If AV, XB, BY and TT endorse Porter, she could jump six to eight points. Mahan…who knows what he does. This would leave a better outcome of a heavily split Republican ticket and two Dems getting through. Time to be pragmatic

President Trump endorsed Steve Hilton (R) in California's gubernatorial race. This could move GOP voters to Hilton & reduce the chance of a top-two primary lockout for Democrats. After all, Hilton and Chad Bianco (R) are currently 1st-2nd in DDHQ's #CAGov polling average.

CNN will host a California gubernatorial primary debate on May 5 CNN will host a California gubernatorial primary debate next month, a potential inflection point in a crowded campaign that Democrats are concerned could provide an opening for Republicans. The two-hour debate will be held May 5 at 6 p.m. Pacific time (9 p.m. Eastern time), just under a month before the June 2 primary. CNN anchors Elex Michaelson and Kaitlan Collins will moderate the event, which will take place in the Los Angeles area. cnn.com/2026/04/06/pol…

Well said! This noise has to stop. If Mahan doesn’t make the top two there will a strong financial push behind Hilton. @elonmusk would be a valuable endorsement with the importance of the California Coastal Commission as it relates to launch frequency and tax impacts for @SpaceX and employees around Vandenberg and Hawthorne. Let’s unite and make this a real deal!

The “conventional wisdom” about Trump’s endorsement of Hilton is wrong: 460K non-Republican voters in LA County ALONE voted for Trump in 2024 After the fires, ~50% of CA voters said they’d consider voting GOP for Governor A GOP lockout was never going to happen Stop dooming

@ZavalaA I would like @SteveHiltonx to tell us again his position on the MAHA changes. Us mom's are all in on the saving our kids, and Secretary Kennedy's MAHA platform, but where is Steve on this?

Let’s say these numbers stay somewhat real for Hilton and Bianco. The undecideds are still huge - heavy Dem/SOME undecided. AV, XB, BY and TT will all be looking for appointments by the next Dem Governor. Low on cash and Steyer has priced them out of impactful media buying to move the needle. Mahan can’t seem to get enough of a bump to be in play with his low energy and late entry. Silicon Valley will push him to drop and not endorse. Could go Hilton in the general…Bianco - no chance of securing that! If Swalwell gets dumped from the nasty stuff coming out, not one of those voters goes to Hilton or Bianco, just pushes one of the other higher Dems up. Simple math likely pushes both Rs out. Time to unite behind Hilton and give it a real shot in the general!

@OC_Scanner @JGaddis59 Sad, but likely true. With the USC debate cancelled, you won’t see any movement before the April 22 televised debate. A few are running out of cash. Let Steyer keep spending and locking the airwaves up!

#BREAKING President Trump endorses Steve Hilton for CA Governor. Not entirely helping the chances of getting both Hilton and Bianco into the General Election.

@OC_Scanner Totally agree. Steyer is very beatable too…VERY!! I’m not saying anyone was wrong hoping for two Republicans, but the math was not “mathing” looking a few weeks out.

@SteveGuest They were way too gentle! But glad they aired it. Time for a deeper dive with some interviews of Central California residents talking about the validity for a train from Bako to Merced. TOTAL WASTE!!!!

60 Minutes OBLITERATES California and Gavin Newsom's plan for high speed rail: "Hardly passenger-ready." "America's hopes for its first high-speed rail were kindled in 2008 when California voters approved a ballot measure for a train connecting Los Angeles to San Francisco in less than three hours. The estimated price tag: $33 billion. Completion date: 2020. It would cut pollution, revitalize local economies, clear gridlock. Status update: today, the state's High-Speed Rail Authority is preparing to lay its first tracks at roughly the same cost. Only slight course correction here: instead of LA to San Francisco, it will run one-third of that distance connecting—wait for it—the metropolis of Bakersfield and Merced (population 96,000). Oh, and when will it open? 2033." Pathetic.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know @SteveHiltonx for over two years now. I have never met someone that has dedicated more time and energy to fighting for the future of the people of California. He has a vision, a plan, and a pragmatic take on how we can save this great State. His knowledge of policies and issues is second to none. It is time for California Republicans, Independents, and Democrats tired of the status quo to unite behind this great man! Go get ‘em Steve! #Hiltonforgovernor2026

I would say this is a direct result of the debate last night with @RichardGrenell (President Trump’s trusted advisor as @SteveHiltonx was for PM Cameron) . Bianco had a tough time providing any depth on answers, or at least a clear and concise plan, and really showed a lack of knowledge when comparing the legal pathway to citizenship to his thoughts on a pathway for those that are here illegally (though this is a fed issue). CEQA and the Coastal Commission were all Bianco could really come up with after a lengthy word salad on the most actionable area a Republican Governor could implement change. Much of the same performance Wednesday at Fresno State. It’s officially time to unite behind @SteveHiltonx for Governor of California. This can be real, especially when the unions pull back from Swalwell for paying his wife to watch her own kids with campaign funds!

This story skimmed the surface. Dive deeper! As California goes, so goes the Country. Look at the ballot language from 20 years ago. Ask why it wasn’t built on the I-5 corridor to truly connect LA and the bay/Sac in open country with right of way corridor existing. Focus on the local elected officials that pushed this stupid map for the train. We already have a fairly viable Amtrak in Central California. A minimal (compared to HSR) investment could have bolstered the effectiveness and use of Amtrak. I love it, just wish it had more frequent direct trains to Sac and the Bay. This is California politics at its “finest”.

“There were mistakes made,” says Toks Omishakin, California’s secretary of transportation. He is relatively new to the job, left to answer for his predecessors on ballooning costs and years-long delays that have beset California’s high-speed rail project. cbsn.ws/4sj6gmJ

The California media have failed to hold the Democrats to account. The Democrats control all of Sacramento and all the major cities - yet they don’t get pushback from the legacy media. Both have failed the people of California. Tonight, however, the Lincoln Club of Coachella Valley is holding their own debate with the two Republican candidates. The only way to watch the debate is right here: youtube.com/live/X1Onr36M8…

Cal State Fresno and various California Agricultural associations hosted a governor’s debate this week. It was the first time both @ChadBianco and @SteveHiltonx were both together on a debate stage facing off against Dems. I wasn’t there in person but I watched it and here are my notes 📝 👉🏼Quick Take: We used to feed the whole world, but California’s Central Valley agriculture industry has been decimated by Democrat climate policies. The absence of Dem frontrunner candidates Swalwell and Steyer reflects their commitment to continue destroying it. 👉🏼Becerra started by identifying the multiple crises that his own party caused, blamed it on Washington DC and the “illegal war in Iran,” and then said he has a track record of balancing a budget (fyi CA has an $18B deficit). 😂 👉🏼My son was listening in the car with me and after Mahan spoke he asked me if Mahan is a Democrat or Republican 😂 even a 6th grader can hear he copies all of his answers from Republicans depending on the crowd he’s speaking to 👉🏼Porter did the same thing Becerra did: they came from DC so they keep zooming out to national issues and policies rather than focusing on California. That will be how they would govern, too. 👉🏼I heard something new from Bianco (that Mahan copied in his own answer 😂), which is that he holds a non-partisan office with a successful track record and much of the problems facing CA farmers are due to partisan politics. Interesting. 👉🏼During nearly every answer, Porter leaned over to say something nasty, sarcastic, or condescending to one of the men next to her. Comes across as a real bitch tbh. 👉🏼Mahan wasn’t the only one copying answers from the Republicans. Porter copied Hilton’s tax plan 😂 👉🏼The Dems on stage basically all tried to out-Republican each other and run away from their own disastrous energy and water regulations and the Dem-supermajority California Legislature’s bad laws. If it wasn’t so exasperating it would be funny. 👉🏼Except Becerra. His answers were typical socialist solutions to cut costs - universal healthcare and insurance price caps - both of which increase not reduce costs and eliminate or reduce quality of services for everyone. Overall, his answers were zeros - rhetorical meaningless statements with a hint of communism and bigger government. 👉🏼Hilton has an impressive command of specific facts and offers specific solutions on whichever issue is raised in the debate. He sounds like knows California water and energy infrastructure issues better than anyone born here let alone any other candidate. 👉🏼Bianco does a great job hammering them on over-regulation in California unlike any other state, and pointing out they are already in control and if they really wanted to implement the solutions they are talking about, they could have done it already. The truth is they won’t. (Same point when they talked about building new infrastructure) 👉🏼Villaraigosa, who is polling at 3%, turned to the Republican candidates, who are polling at the top two, and said “you’re never gonna get elected. It’s a Blue State.” Wow. 👉🏼Both Bianco and Hilton beautifully ripped him to shreds over the arrogance and contempt for the voters from Democrat one-party rule. (@AVillaraigosa then spent the rest of the debate trying to backtrack from such an outrageous statement and pivot to working together)

California’s radical green agenda isn’t saving the planet — it’s destroying your wallet. Record gas prices, skyrocketing utility bills, businesses fleeing the state. It’s time to put working families FIRST and ditch the far-left climate obsession. Affordable energy isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity!

BTW everything they’re talking about is why we Big City Folk have to use low pressure shower heads, plant ugly drought tolerant landscaping, and drink recycled toiled water (which Katie Porter said she wants more of).
