Well, the cat's out of the bag, or, well, plover I guess. Three young plovers were released this afternoon at Montrose Beach. Full news coverage I'd forthcoming, but you can start celebrating now.

Three endangered piping plovers have just been released into the wild in a protected site at Montrose Beach in an effort to aid in species recovery. This marks the first time plovers are being released in the city— hopefully they’ll make friends with Imani! @wttw

Another tree from the Montrose Point arbor files and the second with the word "hop" in its name. This is an Eastern Hophornbeam and it can be recognized by the clusters of pouch or bladder like fruit. You could say we're all hopped up at Montrose. #MontrosePointBirdSanctuary
