Rylan Leak is one of the best true point guards here this weekend. He flat out makes everyone around him better. Leak can also score it at a high level in transition and is a lights out shooter from deep. Go under screens and he’ll make you pay.

Congratulations to Coach Chris Ewell, the 2026 Charlotte Observer Conference Coach of the Year AND GCAC Coach of the Year! 🏆 A historic season led by a coach who transformed the program and set a new standard at West Meck.

What a year for the West Meck family. Three of our own were recognized as All-Conference: • Josiah Bridges (#23) – GCAC & Observer 1st Team • Nasir White (#2) – Observer 2nd Team • Josiah Pratt (#5) – GCAC All-Conference Proud doesn’t begin to describe it.

Final — Sweet 16 West Meck falls 41–52 to Marvin Ridge. Proud of this group for an incredible turnaround season. The growth, the fight, and the brotherhood were on full display all year. Nothing to hang our heads about — the foundation is set, and the future is bright.

West Meck basketball has had one of the biggest turnarounds I have seen. The job Chris Ewell is doing is phenomenal. A team that was winless a year ago finished 1st in the conference and is in the 3rd round of the state playoffs. Hats off to AD Ryan Lutz on the hire.
