We are pleased to report that the Duck Pond Variety Burglary case has been solved. The 2 suspects have been identified, and a juvenile has been charged in connection with this crime. Because the suspect is a juvenile, no further information about them is being released.

National Night Out will be on Tuesday, August 4 from 5-7 PM at the St. Anthony's Church parking lot, located at 268 Brown St. Free food, games, a bounce house, and other various vendors and organizations. A great new addition this year to National Night Out - Slugger the Sea Dog!

WPD presented a Citizens Award to Hannaford Supermarket & Asst Manager Gary Rairdon. They've been great partners w/ us on community policing & donated much of the food that was used for our annual Thanksgiving deliveries. Thank you to Hannaford Supermarkets & Mr. Rairdon!

Congrats to our 2 newest Academy graduates, Officers Westberry & Patel! Both graduated last week from the 18-week Basic Law Enforcement Training Program. They represented WPD well at the Academy, with Officer Patel being class valedictorian.

There is a scam where someone is calling people claiming to be a "Sergeant Investigator Smith" from WPD. This is a SCAM! If you ever have questions about whether a caller is a legitimate officer don't hesitate to call our business line (207-854-0644) so we can verify it for you.

This poor young deer lost its mother to a car crash last week. Along with responding to and handling the crash, Westbrook Officers cared for the young deer at the police station until a State Wildlife Official could come down to take custody of it.
