@Johnpascoe10 Research is funded by government and big business, government is interested only in the vote of the stupid masses, and big business profits don’t come from sustainably managed livestock systems. Deaf ears!

This is very important! Most farmers know it,alot of scientists know it Melbourne Uni know it(they drive a lot of the reseach) but we cant get traction because of ? Probably it didn't fit into proceedings on the last day of some climate conference. So basic and frustrating

I made this video for my non-farming friends After 10yrs of farm carbon audits I want to help those outside the industry understand the flaws/limitations of ruminant livestock carbon data #NetZero #FarmCarbonAudits #CarbonCycle *2nd part below (too tight for a tick😅)

New data shows Cows may play an important role in renewing farm soil. Research by the Soil Association Exchange shows that farms with a mixture of arable crops and livestock have about 1/3 more carbon stored within their soil than those with only arable crops, thanks to manure.

Hi I’m interested if anyone knows of who manufactures boomspray arms, our booms are a tad buggared and I’m looking at options other than a complete boomspray or ongoing repairing. It’s a croplands Pegasus.

@JamesMelville @Paul_Brown1 Thank god someone can explain it simply, it has to be simple for all the halfwits who are looking for the easy option to blame animal farmers for climate change!! Next time you chew on a chop and wear wool, enjoy!

And the battle begins! Titan barley vs Moby barley. Who will win the race and supply the most early feed? We are looking forward to taking the biomass and feedtest samples in the coming weeks. @meatlivestock Pasture Management Project

@Johnpascoe10 @agriprof Don’t forget the sheep run on country that might only get 1.8 tonne of barley, and that loses money, so a few sheep at $200/ha are still a worthwhile thing for many farms, and the potential upside for meat and wool going forward, as it can’t get a lot worse for stock.

Here's a sad fact on the merino game in west australia. For every $1m gross margin at $20/dse for sheep . 50,000 dse or 5000ha ($62m of land) or A cereal crop(4t x $325), $700/ha incl some dep'n 1428ha needed....($18m of land) Please smash these figures and discuss

@KimbarPark I remember back in the 80’s when we fist set a plan to increase lambing percentage it was the lamb and lost that we were told to get rid of, back in those days we gave drys a second chance but not lamb and lost, fertility increased quickly from that point on.

Sheep breeders: what are your thoughts on the repeatability of lambed and lost (ie. accuracy of selection), in maidens and older ewes? Helps weight up gains with culling against costs of carrying in a season where feed will be valuable. Interest in thoughts of others.

@kelly_gorter @StackaNewms Definitely only as good as what you put in. I use PAM. An old one, Does everything and more, got to be careful not to let it get too out of control with accuracy as with that comes complexity! Also I think they in the processs of a huge prog. change so possibly not good timing.

@StackaNewms I like the map/ visual apps. My Mob Tracker lists the paddocks but is a good basic one. Agriwebb seems popular from what I’ve heard but maybe a bit pricey? Whatever you go with, it’s only as good as the info you put in! Got to keep up to date with it

@Westendale2 The other thing is best practice research suggests with trail feeding for best result work on 3 head per metre. The seven line with its 30cm spacing separates each ewe so they all get a equal ration

5 years ago I wouldn’t have dreamed to containment feed preg ewes with Lucern like this through the fence. Sleeping beautifully knowing I will have warm weather and plenty of FOO for a autumn lambing

@AndrewBouffler Good one. Thanks for that. Does the ringlock get a bit messed up over time, would you see any advantages in using a single wire at the bottom instead of heads going through the ringlock holes

After 5 days and nights of relentless winds the 3yo lab cracked and destroyed her boss's boots. In the Mediterranean the sirocco drives people crazy after 4 days and criminal penalties are reduced. #notsorry #thewindmademedoit

All the guys using stripper fronts, are you cutting and baling straw behind or what’s the reason? And how on earth are you sowing through the stubbles next season?
