From #Westernu to the world stage. Mark Ideson (BSc’99) is representing Canada once again in wheelchair curling at the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Milano-Cortina. A #WesternMustangs alum and former Mustangs Cheerleading national champion, Ideson’s journey to his fourth Paralympic Games is one of perseverance, resilience, and determination. After surviving a devastating helicopter crash in 2007, he found his way back to sport - ultimately becoming the skip of Canada’s national wheelchair curling team and a three-time Paralympic medalist.
