@Based_PhD @TaraBull808 How horrible that Atheism allows people to only ever contemplate their own navels and think that they are the centre of the Universe. As Christians, we understand the wider picture. Who we are and what we do, even minuscule kindness towards others, matters.

Just moved into this older home and the elderly couple had these hooks in 3 rooms. One of the family rooms, a bedroom and the master bathroom. What did they use them for, what can I use them for?

@Michaeljos92972 Many, who have experienced the searing pain of grief reach out to help the next person. We who have lost need to help others going through it. Once You have been there, you need to soften the sharp edge for anyone grieving. A labour of Love.

Michael & Rebecca
Michael & Rebecca@Michaeljos92972·
THE WORLD CAN BE CRUEL. by Michael Whelan Michael sat alone on the patio beneath the dim yellow porch light, his phone trembling in his hand. Tears rolled down his face as the Florida night wrapped around him. Another heartbreaking call. Another caregiver at the end of their rope. Another exhausted soul whispering, “I don’t know how much longer I can do this.” Then came the soft patter of tiny paws. Peanut bounded through the sliding glass door, leapt onto Michael’s shoulder, and immediately froze. “Daddy?” he whispered. “Why are your eyes raining again?” Michael tried to answer, but emotion crushed the words before they could escape. “I’m just tired, little man.” Peanut tilted his head. “No. This is the deep sad.” Bella, Bambi, Winston, and Penny slowly gathered around Michael like tiny guardians surrounding someone wounded. Peanut gently touched Michael’s cheek. “Tell me.” Michael stared into the darkness. “You know that thing called Twitter?” Peanut blinked. “The place where humans yell at each other all day?” Even through tears, Michael laughed softly. “Pretty much.” “Why do you go there then?” “Because buried inside all that noise are hurting people,” Michael whispered. “Caregivers. Cancer patients. People who just lost the love of their life like your mommy. There are a lot of Rebeccas out there, Peanut… and families trying desperately to save them.” Peanut listened carefully. “I’ve written almost four million words trying to help people. Most writers charge subscriptions or put their work behind paywalls. I never charged a penny. I just wrote.” Bella rested her head on Michael’s knee. “And most people who follow me are beautiful human beings,” Michael continued. “They carried me through cancer… through Rebecca’s illness… through losing her. Some nights their kindness is the only thing keeping me going.” His voice cracked. “But sometimes with the good comes the cruel.” “How do they find you?” Peanut asked. Michael shook his head. “I honestly don’t know.” “You help people every day,” Peanut whispered. “Even when you’re hurting. Why would anyone want to hurt you?” Michael stared silently into the night. Then he shrugged. A tired, broken shrug. “They blamed me when my page got hacked the day after Rebecca died. Eight years… just gone.” Silence settled over the patio. Finally Winston spoke softly from the doorway. “Most humans couldn’t write one honest paragraph about their pain.” Penny nodded. “And you wrote four million words trying to heal theirs.” Michael’s tears fell harder. “I just wanted people to feel less alone.” Peanut wrapped himself around Michael’s neck. “You did, daddy,” he whispered. “You still do.” The wind moved softly through the patio screens as Rebecca’s wind chimes sang somewhere inside the house. Peanut pressed his forehead against Michael’s. “You spent your life teaching strangers how to survive pain,” he whispered. “But Rebecca spent her life trying to teach you that your own heart mattered too.” And there on that little patio sat the only souls still refusing to let Michael carry his grief alone.

@Sabiha1278 I lost my dog. A 9 year old German Shepherd. It tore my heart out. God sent me Robins nesting under my front Porch Roof in a wooden floral box I placed there last year when I could not take my Xmas Decorations down bc they had nested on it. I can smile now.

To all those who have raised cats, what are some tips that you'd have loved to know beforehand? Having never had a cat before, when I moved in with my husband, he had 2 dogs and a cat. The cat was nice, friendly and very beautiful. Her name was Bella. My husband told me her needs, wishes such as she liked to go outside, how to clean the litter box, etc. But one thing I wish I had known was how to really care for, to talk to her, how to pet her, to relate to her. I didnt know these things. Bella just stayed away from me for a while. That is, until she started finding her way into my heart. I started to love her too. Little by little she became my baby and we were a duo. I loved her to the moon and back. My husband never showed her love, just did what he needed to do. I was Bella’s mommy. As time went on I continued to learn what cats needed, where not to touch them, to speak softly to them, cuddle them, sing to them, play with them and more. When my husband and I split up, he did not let me take Bella with me when I left. I was devastated. I loved her and missed her so much. But just 7 days after I moved into my new apartment, I was out one day and along came a black cat who would not let me go. She was living on the streets for a long time and wanted a home, so she chose me. Long story short, I took her home. She is the sweetest cat ever. She has eased the pain of losing Bella and has filled the void in my heart. And now, I'm glad I learned early on what cats need so I can give my Charlotte the very best life. She's God's gift to me. Here's my Charlotte, who got a wiser mommy.

Amir Harden was an 8-year-old boy from Burnsville, Minnesota, who is remembered as a hero for sacrificing his life to protect his mother during a domestic violence incident. On June 5, 2024, Amir’s father attacked Amir's mother, shortly after being released from jail on domestic assault charges. According to his mother, Amir refused to leave her side, saying, "Mommy, I'm not leaving you here". He attempted to wrestle the gun out of his father's hand to save her. He was accidentally struck in the head and neck by a bullet intended for his mother.💔 Amir died in the hospital a few days later. Following the shooting, his father turned the gun on himself and eventually died from his injuries as well. Amir was natural leader and a protector of his four younger siblings. He was athletic and energetic, with a deep love for football, soccer, and dancing. Relatives, friends and teachers remember him for his infectious smile and kind heart. Everyone drop Purple Hearts in honor.💜💜💜
