@Keir_Starmer "Right team, what's in the news today that I can use to get people back on side? but it can't cost anything!" "Well PM, the common man does like football. We could say something about that" "Will it cost me anything?" "No PM" "Right, get it on X, and get Bill Oddie on the phone"

Football should bring people together, not shut them out. For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right. This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club. Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match. I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.

@AbeStation2 @forevercoco3 @BBCNews Using a loo doesn't make you a threat to someone. By that logic, no one should be using public transport because we all theoretically could be threats then

@LeeL0031 @forevercoco3 @BBCNews Me? Arrest trans people for using a loo? Yeah, and how are you going to find who's trans and who isn't? You can't force someone to declare it

@OlicanaLass @BBCNews Most women have never cared and still don't. In fact, more women are pro trans than men are on average. But what exactly does this law solve? What does it reduce? Who does it help?

Leadership is about improving people’s lives not spending every day blaming immigrants. While others shout ‘deport this’ and ‘stop that’ policies like free summer bus travel for children 5-15 yrs old, actually help working families survive the cost-of-living crisis. That’s the difference between governing and fearmongering.

Every family should enjoy the summer without having to think about the pressures of the cost of living. That’s what our Great British Summer Savings package is all about.

@Keir_Starmer What constitutes a family to you? We have no children so are we still a family? The answer is yes we are! So where is the help for the childless couples or are we just expected to lump it and pay for everyone else's kids?

I want every family to have fun this summer. That's why I’m cutting VAT on children’s activities and meals with Great British Summer Savings. Our economic plan is the right one, to support families and businesses, and build a stronger and more secure Britain.

@Keir_Starmer That's great Keith. So control of our borders is restored, you're giving kids free bus travel in August and freezing fuel duty! Hooray! That must mean that all the labour voters who moved to Reform will be coming back then? I look forward to seeing this reflected in the polls..

Net migration has fallen 82%. I promised to restore control to our borders. My government is delivering. I know there’s more to do, we’re introducing a skills-based migration system that rewards contribution and ends our reliance on cheap overseas workers.

@Keir_Starmer So I have an electric car (because you lot told me to get one) so the fuel duty freeze doesn't help me. We don't have children so free bus travel for kids doesn't help me. Anything else?

We’ve just extended the fuel duty cut for the rest of the year. This will support millions of drivers and families across the country. My Labour government is focused on what matters to you: cutting the cost of living.

@10DowningStreet Because energy "policy costs" have moved across to general taxation. It's what is known as smoke and mirrors. We're not ALL stupid you know!

Good news: inflation has fallen today. Our action to reduce energy bills - with the price cap dropping by £117 - means inflation is now lower. There’s more to do - this government is delivering for Britain.

@Keir_Starmer So the BBC investigation into people smuggling has led to the arrest of Kardo Jaf in Kurdistan yet the UK government, with all its billions of pounds of expenditure couldn't be bothered. For the second time today the BBC is doing what the government should be. Shame on you, shame

I condemn the deadly attack on a mosque in San Diego. My thoughts are with those affected. I know many Muslims in the UK will be shaken by this, worried about their safety when going about their lives and attending mosque, and what it says about the times we’re living in. I understand those fears. Violence like this does not happen in a vacuum. It grows in an environment where division and anti-Muslim hostility are normalised. That is intolerable. We must all come together against it.
