@NoelHolohan @Gaascoreswex Best way to change league attitude is call it senior div 1 senior div 2 intermediate div 1 intermediate div 2, junior div 1 and so forth. 8 teams in each group and have proper promotion relegation status where clubs can aspire to be a senior league team etc etc.

@Gaascoreswex They’ve some sort of cups too do they? League way under rated in Wexford in both codes. Not sure how that changes without a mind set change.

@Gaascoreswex @antomasterson1 You’re the only one making it a hurling versus football debate. It’s basic player welfare. All these bullshit workshops on player recovery etc. It’s first team football, not tier 1 or tier 2. If that’s how we want to treat first team inter county minor players, I’m out.

Another good performance by these boys to go to Dublin and beat Monaghan despite not having their Dual players. This competition allows these boys the chance to develop and to stay together longer.. they should be supported but removing their dinner after training is a new low 😔

@GAALeagueTables Not entirely true as some end up there because of a stupid geographical imbalance where the luck of a draw determines if a Sligo or Leitrim or Waterford and Tipp end up in a provincial semi final and force teams to drop to Tailteann cup.

If a team finds itself in the Tailteann Cup it’s because that’s the level they are operating at. It’s a national title for teams who realistically have zero chance of ever winning Sam. Embrace it, compete and win it.

@NoelHolohan @Gaascoreswex @OfficialWexGAA Wexfords poor run in club hurling was there prior to split season. Oulart dominated for 8 years and could only win one provincial title in that time. Football is generally competitive. There are grounds for 12 senior and 16 intermediate and 16 junior teams.

@Gaascoreswex @OfficialWexGAA Is the argument for quitting the split season due to Wexford continued poor run in Leinster club hurling though? Or because it’s run off in 7-8 weeks?

@IndoSport It wasn’t any different in any other year and using Kerry football is a lopsided way to argue your point. Kerry football has always been overloaded with games. The split season didn’t add to it and for 40 years games have always been played in December and in bad weather.

@stjosephswexgaa I think if there was a caveat put in that the adult championship could not delay minor and maybe a limit on number of minors allowed be named on panel at any one time could have helped. The fear that players will be burnt out is overplayed.

@Gaascoreswex The first question to be answered is why do Leinster competitions have to start on 21st October? Secondly why do they need two week breaks between rounds?

We can't start the championship any earlier. We can't finish it any later if we want representative's in Leinster. So a different format that takes less weeks to run is the only option IMO.

Won't be long now before the annual debate about whether we should play Hurling 1st , Football 1st or rotate both. 2 Groups of 6 with 3 knockout Rds will take both codes 16 weeks to complete at a minimum. That means no rest weeks or breaks for a lot of players. Thoughts??
